He hired two gentlemen experienced in various aspects of the music world (including current store manager Mike Samos) and together they laid the groundwork for actualizing Jeff's vision. I spent the late 1990's and much of the 2000's as a music store owner and vintage guitar dealer, selling online (here on GBase as Sound Source, then Mahar's Vintage Guitars) and at guitar shows across the country. I switched gears in 2009, returning to an old passion - audio visual systems design and installation. The COVID situation offered up some spare time, which found me back in the guitar business. Now I'm at it full-time and things have picked up as if I never took a minute off! Located at 17 Galerie Véro-Dodat, an early 19th Century glass-and-steel arcade in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, the shop has a 50 year history in the market of high-end guitar trade and restauration. I've been a player for 60 years, a collector for more than 25. I specialize in Gibson ES-335s, 345s, 355s from the 50's and early to mid 60's. Nobody in the world buys more 1958-1964 ES-335's, 345's and 355's and nobody sells more of them.
