Description
Guild's iconic arched-back design makes its return in the compact OM-240E acoustic-electric. The purpose of this trademark feature is twofold: principally, it reduces weight and increases live projection. But it also pays tribute to some of Guild's most popular models, like the D-25 and F-30. The result is a great-playing, easy-traveling guitar with Guild's unmistakable look.
The OM-240E harks back to Guild's golden-era flat tops with some exciting vintage specs, including a concert-sized body made from premium woods, a classic Guild C-shaped neck, and a retro red tortoiseshell pickguard. The OM-240E includes the AP-1 pickup for a clean sound that plugs straight into a PA from its end-pin jack.
Built with solid spruce X-braced top, mahogany sides and an arched mahogany back, the OM-240E has a comfortable body and distinctive voice. Guild’s signature arched back design allows for great volume and projection, long sustain and a lush, full sound. With a 24-3/4” scale length and 1-11/16″ nut width on a vintage-shaped Guild neck, this concert-size guitar is a joy to play. The OM-240E features Guild’s AP-1 pickup, a bone nut and saddle, pearloid rosette, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard and a matte polyurethane finish.
In addition to its classic look and ergonomic comfort, an arched back design prevents the need for the added support of back braces, reducing weight while increasing projection and volume, contributing to the revered Guild sound for which these historic models are so well loved. This particular OM-240E guitar is in near-mint condition, with the plastic covering still on the pick guard. The action is set up at the optimum 3/32” at the 12th fret low E, and it is fully ready to play. It will be shipped in a well-padded “Ultimate” gig bag with lots of handy pockets and straps.
