Universal Audio Amp Emulator Pedals - RUBY '63 Top Boost Amplifier

The Ruby ‘63 Top Boost Amplifier from Universal Audio is a phenomenal amp in a box pedal bringing that quintessential British invasion sound. 

Amp in a box tech has come a very long way since its inception, with cabinet Impulse Responses, or IRs, sounding extremely close to the real thing. These pedals from UA come with three built-in cabinet sims along with additional cabs available through the phone app. The app, via Bluetooth connection, allows for preset building, more customization options, and other features not found entirely on the pedal to keep pedal usage simple and streamlined. This lets the pedal stand on its own with the essential controls so it can be used independently without the app.

The Bass & Treble EQ controls affect the Brilliant Channel only and the Boost changes circuit depending on the Channel selected. More classic amp controls of Volume (Gain), Cut (High Freq Atten.), and Output on the top three knobs. Flipping the middle switch to [Alt] allows for these knobs to control their respective alternative functions. Room adds studio ambience and air, Speed for vibrato rate, and Intensity for variable harmonic vibrato contour (OFF bypasses vibrato circuit). 

Three cab sims are available built into the pedal: Silver are two 15W Celestion Silver Bulldogs in a 2x12 mic'd with a 57, Blue is a 2x12 of Celestion Blue Bulldogs, and Green is a 2x12 of G12H Celestions, with three more included in the app. Three different channels give entirely different flavors along with more custom sounds with the other parameters: Brilliant, Normal, and Vibrato. Overall, an extremely comprehensive pedal that includes many features of the amps that defined this tone, but with more capabilities all built into a small footprint.
