Gibson Guitars - 1972 Les Paul Custom - Used

Description

This vintage, 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom is a fantastic playing, fretless wonder from the "Pancake" Les Paul era. Delivering all sorts of vintage, black beauty vibes, this guitar sports the original Patent Number Humbucking pickups, complete with the patent # decal.

Here with an original set of gold Grover tuners which were possibly a custom order at the time of production, when Gibson specs were in flux. The original CTS pots date to the 11th week of 1972 and are wired up with the original Sprague capacitors.

The pickup ring screws have been replaced along with the control knobs. The bridge and tailpiece have also been replaced. There is buckle rash wear that has had the finish touched up (see photos), while the rest of the finish is the original black nitrocellulose lacquer. Original, low frets. The original Gibson, purple-lined, case is included.
