This new Brazilian Rosewood D2A Hill Country is an incredible, vintage-inspired guitar utilizing an increasingly rare set of tonewoods. It's been more than a minute since Collings had new sets of Brazilian rosewood available, and when we had the opportunity to grab a couple we jumped on board and could not be more thrilled with how this guitar has turned out. The grain has a wonderful aesthetic to it, with the quality of the Brazilian being absolutely lovely, with a wonderful color and touch of movement. 


This particular D2A HC has a rich, focused and warm response throughout the range of the instrument, with a mid-to-low range growl that is reminiscent of some of our favorite vintage guitars. Bold and dynamic with a quick string response and a heft behind the note that thanks to the combination of Adirondack and Brazilian that really cuts through a jam.


The Hill Country line of guitars deliver a new vintage-voiced build, with the same quality and attention to detail that has always been synonymous with Collings. This dreadnought features hand-poured tortoise appointments, new bracing and top/back voicings, and a stamped Collings logo on the back of the headstock.


The control, and power that comes from this line of Collings guitars rivals any sort of vintage-inspired build out there, and we're so very excited to get to spend time getting to know these guitars before we usher them along to their new home. Includes a free Mass Street setup from our crew of luthiers along with the original hardshell case.
