Suhr Suhr Ian Thornley Signature Thornicus Dual-Channel Fuzz Pedal
Description
Presenting the Suhr Ian Thornley Signature "Thornicus" Dual-Channel Octave Fuzz. The result of several years of intensive R&D and circuit experimentation between Ian Thornley and Kevin Suhr, the Thornicus was designed to be the "final word" in fuzz. While Ian has long favored the Suhr Rufus, he required a more versatile tool that could capture the "DNA" of his favorite vintage units while providing the surgical precision and reliability required for world tours. The Thornicus features two completely independent channels—a Fuzz side and an Octave Fuzz side—each with its own dedicated set of controls. This architecture allows you to dial in two distinct tonal identities and switch between them instantly via the dual footswitches or MIDI. The Fuzz Side: Delivers thick, saturated sustain with a velvety, musical breakup that cleans up beautifully with your guitar's volume control. The Octave Side: Stacks a touch-sensitive octave circuit in front of the main fuzz, creating harmonically complex, searing lead tones that cut through any mix. Beyond the standard Level and Sustain controls, both channels feature a powerful Mids knob. This allows you to sweep from 90s-style "scooped" grunge to mid-forward, articulate presence, ensuring your fuzz never gets lost in the context of a loud band. For the modern professional rig, the Thornicus includes MIDI compatibility, allowing players to store and recall bypass states and channel selections via MIDI controllers—a rare and welcome feature in the world of premium analog fuzz.
