Used c1997 Rivera Jake Studio serial number R669 7F00213JS55.
This amp is in very good condition, fully functional (the pilot light in the on/off switch is out but the channel indicator always lets you know when it’s on). Cosmetically it’s clean with the exception of the grille cloth which is showing some separation. I can’t explain it. It’s been in a well humidified environment and has rarely been out of the house.
Born from the famed Rivera “R” series amps the Jake Studio is basically an upgrade of the R55-112 for studio session icon Jay Graydon (Steely Dan, Al Jarreau, Earth Wind & Fire even Chicago) The Jake sports a slightly wider cabinet and added Vintage/Modern (Triode/Pentode) switch as well as an impedance selector.
We say: “Like the R55, a high-powered Deluxe Reverb lives inside the clean channel. The pièce de résistance is the somewhat more aggressive “plexi” voiced distortion channel.”

Channels 1’s circuitry has been designed to closely emulate the gain structure and tonal character of modified classic British amplifiers. The Gain Boost feature on this channel, which relies on non-compressed boost, adds a degree of warmth and fullness for chunking out fat chords or solid solos.
Channel 2’s circuitry delivers the classic clean tone and headroom associated with popular American amplifier designs. At the same time, channel 2 can yield incredible sustain with the warm overdrive tone, like that generated by better Blues and Rock guitarists, Adding Ninja Boost makes it possible to achieve powerful crunch tones without the edge and harshness typical of many pedal overdrives and other “simulation” boost circuits. This channel also features a Notch control that allows you to dial-in the tone you want from ‘tweed to black’.”
The Jake is a standout for excellent channel switching versatility. The FS-7 footswitch allows you to switch between two independent and individually voiced preamp channels. It lets you add an additional Gain Boost to distortion channel 1 and Rivera’s Ninja Boost (a clean boost) to the clean channel 2. The result is four completely different tones accessible from the footswitch.
Featuring 2-EL84’s, 5-12AX7’s and a solid-state rectifier, a Celestion/Rivera G12T-75 speaker, beautiful blonde tolex and FS-7 footswitch is included.
