1971 Rickenbacker 330 - RARE "transitional" specs TOASTER pickups Burgundyglo

Description

++ PLEASE excuse the "average" photo quality. I'll get some better shots up soon.
Here’s a very uncommon transitional example of the classic Rickenbacker 330.

Somewhere in 1970 they started setting the neck a bit deeper into the body, presumably to strengthen it, as earlier models are sometimes prone to have joint “troubles”, unless they are pampered.
MANY by this time have the "hi gain" pickups BUT a very small number of these will have the ‘60’s "Toaster tops" (like this one). I’ve had hundreds of older Rics through the years and I can recall having only one other early '70's model like this, but I have seen a few elsewhere.

To "top it off" in the seldom seen category this also sports the BURGUNDYGLO finish!
No breaks/cracks/repairs - just some honest wear (nick/dings & wedding ring wear on finish back of neck (SEE PHOTOS). Used a shop light to "amplify" body wear (again: see photos).

ALSO- I took these BEFORE detailing/polishing...... it'll be cleaner soon!
Serial number places it as shipped out in'71. Pot code is '67 (not unheard of). Original Hard Case was re-lined years ago by the original owner. COOL and UNUSUAL vintage RIC!!
