Paul Reed Smith PRS Wood Library DGT in Fire Red to Grey Black Fade with Rosewood Neck

Description

This stunning PRS Wood Library DGT model features a custom Fire Red to Grey Black Fade finish, paired with a Solid Rosewood Neck. The Legend of the DGT The DGT (David Grissom Trem) is the result of more than 20 years of collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and David Grissom. Based on the iconic McCarty platform but modified with a unique DGT neck shape, taller frets, specially-voiced pickups, and a revised control layout, the DGT is often called the "Swiss Army Axe." It was designed to transition seamlessly from a vintage "Texas" blues voice to a powerful rock growl, all while offering the most musical coil-taps in the PRS lineup. The Wood Library Advantage The Wood Library program allows Signature Dealers, like The Guitar Sanctuary, access to elite instruments that bridge the gap between Core production and Private Stock. These guitars feature upgraded tonewoods and premium appointments—such as solid Rosewood necks and custom finishes—that are not available in the standard PRS catalog. As a Wood Library "one-off," this guitar represents a rare opportunity to own a uniquely spec'd DGT without the Private Stock price tag. The Woods This DGT features a breathtaking 10-Top Grade Flame Maple top finished in a striking Fire Red to Grey Black Fade. The custom-color fade is beautifully complemented by a Natural Back, allowing the mahogany's grain to provide a warm, organic counterpoint to the vibrant top. Most notably, this build is upgraded with a Solid East Indian Rosewood Neck and Fingerboard. A solid rosewood neck offers a distinctively smooth, "raw wood" feel and a piano-like resonance with a rich harmonic bloom that sets it apart from any standard mahogany-neck version. The Hardware This instrument is outfitted with Hybrid Hardware (a mix of Gold and Nickel), providing a sophisticated, custom-shop aesthetic. The model is anchored by the PRS Gen 2 Tremolo bridge and PRS Phase III locking tuners with faux-bone buttons, ensuring the legendary tuning stability and expressive performance David Grissom demands. The Electronics The heart of this instrument is the PRS DGT Pickup system. Grissom and Paul Reed Smith spent a year A/B-ing more than forty sets of pickups before perfecting this vintage voice. These pickups are "Tuned Capacitance and Inductance" (TCI) processed to ensure perfect tonal balance and clarity. With two volume controls and a push/pull tone control for coil-tapping, the DGT provides a massive palette of tones that move from a thick humbucking scream to a glassy, single-coil chime with ease.
