Description

1x12” 100/60-watt combo in blonde tolex, freshly serviced. Some honest wear but all-stock and purchased from the original owner. Now called the Mark IIA by Boogie collectors to distinguish it from subsequent iterations, Boogie themselves referred to the initial version of their first channel-switching amp just the Mark II at the time, and that’s what this amp is. Massive transformers, the legendary EV-12L loudspeaker, factory footswitch with LED, a quartet of 6L6s, 60/100-watt power switch, Fetron stage in preamp, slave out level, presence, and reverb controls on the back - so many of the iconic early Boogie features. Back in the ‘70s, these were durable and innovative hand-built, custom-ordered amplifiers, and this one has a tranche of factory paperwork to prove it. Invoices, correspondence with Randall Smith and Boogie, postage receipts, schematics, price lists, you name it. Great tone, versatile and incisive, powerful but controllable with Boogie’s sophisticated master volume circuit, used by many great players - Carlos Santana, John McLaughlin, Pete Townshend, and many others. A very nice example of one of the original boutique amps. Made in Lagunitas, California, USA. Local pickup only.
