1920 Martin 0-21 Natural
Description
* Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce
* Twelve Frets / Slotted Peghead
* Excellent Restoration
A nicely restored single 0 that's mostly original - the back was oversprayed or refinished to mitigate the appearance of several cracks (now all solid and not an eyesore) mainly in one area of the lower back. The top is very clean considering the vintage and has one very tight crack and a few light compression lines on the bass side edge. We can call these cracks, but it should be said that they lie above the inner lining so are ?cleated? by that, solid, and not a visual distraction. Braces and bridgeplate are excellent and original, the pyramid bridge, tuners, nut and pins are original. It is very solid and great looking, with an excellent set up for steel strings after some bar fret finesse from one of our masters (there?s only a handful of folks out there who can really do bar fret work right).
It has a surprisingly solid and clear, rich tone, quite loud and full for an 0-sized guitar, and a nicely shaped V neck. It takes light steel strings at full tension easily with no top distortion
This one is calling out to be someone?s songwriting muse or finger picking couch piano.
