2009 Jackson JS30RR Randy Rhodes V w/Jackson Molded Case- Black
Description
The Jackson JS30RR Randy Rhoads V is the entry point into one of rock's most iconic body shapes — the angular, asymmetrical V that Rhoads developed with Jackson in the early 1980s and made legendary through his work with Ozzy Osbourne. This 2009 example represents the JS Series at a moment when Jackson was building these guitars with genuine playability and solid hardware at an accessible price point.
The body is Indian Cedro, a mahogany-family wood used widely in Jackson's offshore production during this era — it's lighter and slightly brighter-grained than true mahogany, which partly explains the guitar's comfortable 6 lbs 6.5 oz weight. The maple neck runs a Thin C profile with measured thickness of .755" at the first fret and .842" at the twelfth — genuinely slim dimensions that suit fast playing and extended upper-register work. The laurel fretboard spans 24 frets over a 25.5" scale with a 12"-16" compound radius. All 24 frets are original and in good shape. Action is set at an even 2/32" on both the first and sixth strings at the twelfth fret with 10-46 gauge strings — a comfortable, player-ready setup.
The Jackson High Output humbuckers read 10.49k at the bridge and 10.45k at the neck — well-matched, hot-wound pickups that cover the high-gain territory this guitar was designed for. Hardware throughout — bridge, tuners, knobs, 3-way switch, pots — is all original and functioning correctly. The black hardware finish is intact and consistent. The guitar is in honest used condition consistent with its age, showing the kind of light play wear you'd expect from a 2009 instrument, nothing that affects playability or structural integrity. Comes with its original hard shell case.
