2019 Gibson SG 1961 Les Paul Custom Classic Reissue (1961 reissue) Black beauty ebony

Serial # 190021528 920D electronics, with a third 61 hum-bucker. This guitar is finished beyond normal factory specs. Trademark Classics modelSGLPC-BCM001 6 of 6 produced as of 3/2021. I bought the original from Duane Allman in nyc in1968 after his famous Fillmore Show. He was trying to sell it to a famous guitar shop-owner, Dan Electro, (way before Matt Umanoff) on Bleeker Street. As a matter of fact, Matt was a gofer for Dan, getting us all coffee that day. I interceded and bought the guitar from Dwayne because Dan wasn’t very interested. Who knew these guys in cowboy hats, fringe jackets and cowboy boots were going to be so famous?. I used the guitar for 10 years, replacing the whammy bar with a Bixby which I still have and toured professionally and did a lot of studio work with it. This reissue is like having my same guitar back. It is brand new. I sold the original for $18,000 in 1998 to Hoboken Guitars so this should be worth something. I’m 76 and can’t play out anymore. I just play acoustics because my neighbors won’t let me plug in. That’s the only reason why it’s for sale.
