1996 Gibson Custom Shop Firebird VII Cherry

Description

Gibson Custom Shop 1996 Firebird VII

This is an early Gibson Custom Shop “Firebird VII” model.

Like the standard “VII”, this guitar has three mini humbuckers and gold hardware, but it is a special edition featuring a rosewood fingerboard, dish inlays and a stop tailpiece.

Its specifications, including the through-neck construction, banjo tuning pegs, 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck and mahogany wing body, are identical to standard Firebird models.

The mini humbucker pickups are original units with the PAT No. engraved on them.

There are numerous scratches and tiny dents throughout the body, weather checking and paint peeling at the wing joint on the sixth string side of the body top. There is also extensive paint peeling and tiny dents on the body sides and at the tip of the headstock, as well as overall discoloration and peeling and tarnishing of the plating on the metal parts.
