Serial number 005, this must be one of Ellis' earliest mandolins. It's entirely hand made and unique with the best quality woods and fabulous craftmanship, and virtually unplayed. Its case is also unique and finely crafted (by Ellis, we assume). Perfect spruce top and tiger flame maple, delicious faux-tortoiseshell binding. The neck is at a steep angle with a high bridge. Truly a unique, great sounding and historic mando.
