1964 Fender Deluxe Amp Black Panel With Footswitch Pre CBS AB763 Black

The Fender Deluxe Amp (1964) is one of the most iconic amplifiers of the black panel era, revered for its AB763 circuit and dynamic tremolo. If you poke around you'll find that the consensus is that the Deluxe with no reverb is better sounding than a Deluxe Reverb!
This example is all original with the exception of the filter caps and a 1965 Jensen speaker. It runs really well and sounds fantastic, but if you plan to use it regularly and/or rely on it for stage use I would recommend updating the power cable, bypass caps, and the bias cap. I can do the work for the next owner.
As a Pre-CBS model, this amp represents the pinnacle of Fender’s craftsmanship, offering the authentic tone that defined countless classic recordings of the 1960s.
Delivering around 22 watts through a single 12-inch speaker, the 1964 Deluxe is known for its warm cleans, touch-sensitive breakup, and rich harmonic character that respond beautifully to both single-coil and humbucker-equipped guitars. This example is paired with its original footswitch, making it a complete and collectible piece for players and collectors alike.
The AB763 circuit is regarded as one of Fender’s finest designs, prized for its clarity at low volumes and smooth, natural overdrive when pushed. The black panel aesthetic with silver grille cloth has become a visual hallmark of vintage Fender amps, cementing this model as a highly desirable amplifier for blues, rock, country, and studio work.
This 1964 Deluxe Amp remains a standout choice for serious collectors seeking an original Pre-CBS Fender or gigging musicians wanting legendary tone in a manageable package.
At Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, every vintage amp is carefully inspected, photographed, and documented so you can buy with confidence.
