1963 Gibson J-160E – Sunburst
Description
If you’re a Beatles fan, you’ll certainly recognize this 1963 Gibson J-160E in Sunburst. This guitar features the same specs as John and George’s famed matching 1962 pair. This guitar is a beautiful player, essentially an electric guitar that looks like and also plays like an acoustic when unplugged! This pickup is a single P-90 without a cover, accompanied by volume and tone controls. This model was also the first Gibson Flattop model to feature an adjustable bridge! There are a few repairs with this one, including a bridge reglue. The jack has been moved slightly on this instrument, and the hole at the old location has been plugged. Due to shrinkage, the edges of the pickguard are lifting slightly, but this does not need to be addressed, according to our luthier. Aside from one changed tuning button and changed bridge pins, the rest of the hardware and all of the electronics on this guitar are original!
Overall Condition: 6.5, well-worn example
