1962 Fender Jazz Bass "First Round Fingerboard Neck"

Description

This is a 1962 Jazz Bass with an early round fingerboard.
The early round fingerboard models, which right after specifications changed from slab board, feature thicker rosewood compared to later models. This results in a sound with a wide frequency range while retaining a rich, deep bass.

Similar to the Slab era, this period is also characterized by thin heads known as “resonant necks” and the marking placement at the 12th fret position.

While there are a few minor signs of vintage wear and weathering, overall it remains in excellent condition.
The frets and nut have been replaced, and playability is excellent.
Rear volume and tone pots have been replaced.

Additionally, evidence of it having been set to active specifications at one point was found in the form of a battery recess cut beneath the pickguard; however, this has since been filled with alder wood and touch-up painting has been applied.
