~1934 Washburn Model 5234
Description
Twelve Fret 00 Size Slot-Head
Top-Of-The-Line
Rosewood Back & Sides
Also called a "Deluxe" and seems to have been made between the late Twenties and 1935. It was made by Regal for the Tonk Brothers, the owner of the Washburn name at the time, and was their top-of-the-line model. The body is rosewood, the top has the beautiful gold leaf filigree floral decoration, all materials and construction are top quality, though the neck is rather large. The tuners have been replaced and the original case is in funky shape: the lid is not attached. Otherwise the instrument is in fine condition and plays well.
