Few guitar players have a resume as diverse and impressive as Steve Lukather. Be it rock, pop rock, prog, jazz or funk, Lukather has made a name for himself as a hard-working musician, whose portfolio exceeds just his career in Toto. Having collaborated on 1000+ albums, he for sure knows how to spec a guitar - maturely elegant, diverse, and a workhorse all in one. This model was originally intended only for Steve Lukather himself, and only about 60 pieces exist worldwide, making this a highly desirable collectors item.
The body for this guitar is alder with a bolt-on figured maple neck. The neck is fitted with a rosewood, 22-fret fingerboard with dot inlays. The hardware equipped on this guitar is gold, which makes it stand apart from most of its chrome hardware equipped counterparts. Another distinct feature is the matching color of the headstock. The bridge is a Music Man branded tremolo, and the tuners are Music Man locking. The electronics department is handled by the EMG SL20 set, with two EMG SLV single coil pickups in the neck and middle, with the classic EMG 85 in the bridge position. The inclusion of the single coil pickups provides a nice, clear and balanced tone to counter the powerful EMG 85. With this combination, you can easily cover chiming cleans, monstrous distortion, virtually everything in between and more. This isn’t a guitar just for Toto fans - it is a genuinely great musical multitool to help you take your music to the next level.
The guitar is in good condition. There are minor signs of wear, and the frets have about 70-80% life left. There are no signs of major wear besides what you would expect from a guitar this age.
