1968 Gibson SG Standard Cherry Red w Original Hard Case 1960s Vintage Guitar

Here is a really nice 1968 Gibson SG Standard in classic Cherry Red, complete with what appears to be the original hardshell case. A great, honest late-’60s SG that checks a lot of boxes.

This guitar appears to be very original throughout, with the only possible change being a refret and the bridge could be a tad newer but still vintage. There are no breaks or structural repairs, just a small touch-up near the last two frets and a minor fissure near the strap button, both very minimal.

The original patent number sticker humbuckers sound excellent. It features all the right specs including the Maestro (Lyre) Vibrola, batwing pickguard, double-line Kluson tuners, and a one-piece mahogany neck with no volute and no “Made in USA” stamp.

Condition is very good overall, with normal scrapes, scratches, and dings from use — nothing out of line and still very presentable.
