2021 Fender Custom Shop Shigeru Suzuki 1962 Stratocaster J. Relic Fiesta Red over Desert Sand

Description

Fender Custom Shop 2021 Shigeru Suzuki 1962 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic

This is Shigeru Suzuki's signature model, produced under the supervision of master builder Jason Smith.

It is based on the Fiesta Red 1962 Stratocaster that Shigeru Suzuki purchased in Los Angeles in 1973 and has cherished for over 50 years. He used it extensively in live performances and recordings, including on his first solo album, Band Wagon. It features numerous precise details.

- Fiesta Red finish over a Desert Sand base coat, matching the original instrument
- Disc-style string guides
- Slim, unique “V-shape” neck, profiled and recreated to match the state of the original instrument, reshaped by the artist himself
- Slightly higher output hand-wound Fat 60's STRAT pickups
- Splug Bumblebee capacitors
- Deliberately selected “500k” pots (typically “250k”)
- Shared tone control for both bridge and middle pickups

There is no noticeable damage beyond relic processing; overall excellent condition.
