2021 Fender Custom Shop Limited 1960 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Aged Olympic White
Description
Fender Custom Shop 2021 Limited 1960 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic
This is a limited edition “1960 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic” model, a limited re-production of a model that was exhibited at the FENDER CUSTOM SHOP's authorized dealer selection in the summer of 2020.
It is a reissue of a 1960 model with a slab-board rosewood fingerboard, and the Journeyman Relic finish reproduces the fine weather checks, tiny dents, and tarnished metal parts on the entire body, giving it an outstanding look. The back of the neck has been stripped of its paint for a “Heavy Relic” finish.
The fingerboard is made of AAA grade black rosewood, the quarter-sawn maple neck is a slightly thicker C shape (0.825“/0.945”) than the regular C shape (0.790“/0.930”), and the neck grip has a heavy-relic finish with a 9.5R fingerboard and jumbo frets (6100).
It is a unique control for a Fender Strat, Master Volume & Master Tone & Blender (add front), which also allows “Bridge & Neck” mixed sounds like a Telecaster, and “Bridge & Center & Neck” sounds.
The pickups are hand-wound “Texas Special” pickups signed “BP”, but all three pickups have lower resistance than usual. (Resistances are 5.76Ω/6.00Ω/6.41Ω from the neck, and the coil color is the same as the regular Texas Special.)
There is a light color shift on the body end and a paint chip on the neck pocket.
There are over 80% frets remaining, and the neck and truss rod are in good condition.
