2021 Fender Custom Shop LTD 1962 Stratocaster Bone Tone Journeyman Relic Super Faded Aged Sonic Blue

Description

Fender Custom Shop 2021 Limited Edition 1962 Stratocaster Bone Tone Journeyman Relic

This is the 2021 limited-production “1962 Bone Tone Stratocaster Journeyman Relic” model.

Based on the 1962 Stratocaster, this limited-edition model features unique specifications, including a slab-laminated maple fingerboard and gold hardware, which were not present on the original model.

As the model name suggests, it is equipped with the “Master Design Bone Tone” pickups. These were designed and developed by former master builder John Cruz based on feedback from John Mayer.

Deliberately choosing the relatively weaker Alnico 2 magnets combines them with Heavy Formvar Wire results in a lower DC resistance value, producing a clear and spacious sound.

The “Strat 1/2 Blender” wiring configuration allows the neck pickup to be blended when the bridge pickup or the bridge and centre pickups are selected.

There is a hanger mark (dark spot) at the base of the headstock, but no other significant damage. Considering its age, it is in good condition.
