Description
Built a couple of years before Fender bought the rights to Gretsch, this very rare bird was built by Fender's Custom Shop Master Builder Stephen Stern in 2000. It has lots of Gretsch like features, but was 100% Fender Custom. Stern used unique inlays and binding as well as the traditional Bigsby and D'Armond pick ups
Stern studied under Word famous Arch Top builders Jimmy D'Aquisto and Bob Benedetto and later became the head of the Gretsch/Fender owned Custom Shop in 2005. Stern built this Classic Rocker for the 2000 NAMM Show (it's serial number 02) . See Video below.
