1964 Fender Deluxe-Amp
Description
Blackface, pre-CBS “Fender Electric” non-reverb variant. AB763 on the tube chart with “ND” date code stamp indicating a manufacture date of April 1964. The 12” Jensen speaker dates to the third week of 1966 and is not original to the amp but is a premium vintage C12N. This Deluxe was previously owned by Gilby Clarke of Guns and Roses fame but of course he also played with Nancy Sinatra, Heart, and many others. So, the non-reverb version of the Deluxe generally has a bit more bite and headroom than a Deluxe Reverb, so if onboard reverb isn’t critical, these are really cool and not seen all that often. 22 watts from a pair of 6V6s, tube rectifier, great Fender tube tremolo and two channels, lightweight, sharp-looking, very portable, and sounds great. Overall reasonably clean but with a few scuffs and small tears in the (original) tolex and grille cloth, the latter of which has faded in a rather attractive fashion. No footswitch, added 3-prong mains cable. Comes with COA of provenance from April, 2025 and modern vinyl slipcover. Handwired in Fullerton, California, USA.
