Used set of Alembic Activator P-Bass & J-Bass combination active pickup set complete with harnesses, pots, and hardware.
This pickup package is in good to very good condition, fully functional. Cosmetically showing some playing wear, some of the Alembic script on the pickup covers is fading.
Each pickup was tested, as well as the volume and tone (with the ingenious Q feature).
The Q function tone control rolls off the treble as you would expect. But at the roll-off point there is about an 8dB boost.
Alembic put it this way:
“The frequency range on the filter control is between 300Hz-6KHz. Where you set this control determines the highest frequency passed to the output. When you include higher frequencies, you never lose the supportive low. There is an 8dB boost right at the frequency you select. This is the Q of the filter.”
This is useful to tailor your tone in unique way. I find it endlessly useful on my Distillate Bass to dial in the right amount of presence/punch/clarity as the room and audience size changes.”
These are great sounding pickups that will “wake up” any bass they are installed in.
