A recessed tray holds a Boveda® Packet which, combined with a nitrocellulose-safe (non-rubber) gasket around the perimeter and a glass door, can assist in adding or removing humidity from the cabinet. We include one 72% Seasoning Packet and one 49% Humidity Control Packet to help control humidity. If you live in an extremely dry or humid climate you might want to purchase the larger 320 gm Boveda packs which can be placed in the bottom of the display case. To be clear, the Showcase Deluxe is NOT hermetically sealed. If you need more precise humidity regulation, we recommend you purchase a humidified guitar cabinet with a hermetic seal and a built-in humidifier/dehumidifier module.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I be sure my guitar will fit in the ShowCase?
A: The ShowCase is designed to hold most standard guitar sizes. To check if your guitar fits, measure the following:

• Internal Width: 21 inches wide
• Headstock clearance: 9.5 inches from neck cradle to top of cabinet’s interior
• Neck & body height: Less than 37 inches from top of neck (minus the headstock) to bottom of body
• Body depth: No more than 6 inches thick

Q: How does the humidity control system work?
A: We include Boveda® two-way humidity control packets that help prevent damage caused by air that’s too dry or too humid. These packets sit in a recessed tray and work to keep the case at a relative humidity of about 40%–50%, but it is not exact. If you live in an extremely dry or humid climate you might want to purchase the larger 320 gm Boveda packs which can also be placed in the bottom of the cabinet. Please note, this case is NOT hermetically sealed. If you live in an extreme climate or need tighter control, consider a hermetically sealed cabinet instead.

Q: How long does the Boveda packets last?
A: Boveda says the packets last 2 to 6 months depending on your room’s conditions. When the pack feels dry and stiff, it’s time to replace it.

Q: How do I mount the cabinet on the wall?
A: The case hangs from a wooden cleat that you attach to the wall. Screws and toggle bolts are included. You’ll drill four holes—ideally into two wall studs, but if not, toggle bolts will do the job. Full instructions are included.

Q: How many batteries does it take and how long do they last?
A: The battery pack takes 8 AA batteries (not included). In our testing, the lights ran for over 48 hours before starting to dim.

Q: What tools do I need to assemble the ShowCase?
A: You’ll need a drill, a screwdriver, and a level. All hardware is included, along with illustrated instructions.

Q: Is the glass UV-protected?
A: No, the glass does not have UV protection.

Q: What’s the benefit of the nitrocellulose-safe gasket?
A: Many rubber-based gaskets can release gases over time, which may damage guitars with a nitrocellulose finish. Our gasket is made from inert foam that won’t react with delicate finishes.
