1975 Gretsch White Falcon Ex Status Quo/Johnny Halliday

Description

A truly exceptional piece of European rock history, this 1975 Gretsch White Falcon was owned and played on stage by Johnny Hallyday, the most iconic figure in French rock. It was one of Johnny’s main Gretsch guitars between late 1976 and 1978, used throughout his tours during one of the most defining eras of his career.

This White Falcon is one of the earliest examples Johnny acquired, and it became a key part of his stage image — the perfect match for the American-influenced rock aesthetic he brought to France. Period photos show the guitar in his hands during numerous performances, making it a highly significant instrument for collectors of French music heritage.

In 1981, Johnny gifted this White Falcon to Rick Parfitt of Status Quo during a visit to Paris. Parfitt kept the guitar with him on tour, using it backstage, in hotel rooms and during soundchecks — giving this instrument a second life in the hands of another major rock figure.
With its unmistakable white finish, gold appointments and unmistakable Falcon presence, this guitar carries the legacy of two legendary artists and remains one of the most historically important Gretsch instruments to ever surface.
