1966 Gibson Firebird III – Sunburst
Description
This 1966 Gibson Firebird III in Sunburst is available now! As a Non-Reverse III, it sports a trio of P-90 pickups (all pretty well-balanced), a short Maestro vibrola, and a stairstep bridge. This guitar remains original, with late 1965 pot dates, making it an early 1966 example by serial number. This one has been played in, with plenty of finish checking, nicks, and dings giving it some vibe. There are some light divots in the back of the neck, light staining on the white pickguard around the pickups, and a faded Firebird logo. The coolest feature of this guitar is actually only visible under blacklight! On the lower bass bout, someone applied a sticker or design that looks to be “Love” in script with a heart. While this is no longer visible to the naked eye, you can see the difference in finish once under blacklight. We have included a photo in the listing.
