1946 Martin 00-17 – Natural Mahogany

Description

We hope to look as good as this guitar at 80 years old! This 1946 Martin 00-17 comes in its original natural finish on a mahogany body. The 00-17 is a “Grand Concert” model, which was Martin’s way of noting size and sound. A Grand Concert 00 model like this one features a smaller body and a hair under 25″ scale length, though with more warmth and volume than the smaller-sized “Concert” 0-17. Acoustics this old nearly always require some maintenance, and this particular example has had the nut and bridge reglued, as well as some tuner buttons replaced due to shrinkage. There is also one small top crack on the lower treble bout. This looks to have been repaired some time ago; our tech has assessed that it is not spreading and is stable. Otherwise, this guitar maintains originality and serves as a great player!

Overall Condition: 7.5
