2008 Fender Custom Shop MBS 1960 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic by Jason Smith Sunburst

Description

Fender Custom Shop 2008 MBS 1960 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic Master Built by Jason Smith

This is the “1960 Jazz Bass Heavy Relic” model crafted by Jason Smith, a master builder highly acclaimed for his bass guitar craftsmanship.

It faithfully reproduces the characteristics of the 1960 Jazz Bass, the model’s debut year:

- Distinctive dual stacked control knobs
- Slab-laminated rosewood fingerboard
- Clay dot position markers
- Sunburst finish with faded reddish tones
- Ground plate between the bridge and the bridge pickup
- Screw holes for mounting a mute between the bridge and pickup

While there is some damage to the body that appears to have been acquired after factory shipment rather than being part of a relic finish, there is no unnatural damage and the neck grip is in pristine condition with no scratches.

The frets have been rubbed together and are set slightly low, but the guitar's overall playability is excellent.
