1966 Ampeg AEB-1/AUB-1 Red Sunburst - 1 Off Special Order

Description

Here's a seriously cool and incredibly rare piece: Original 1966 Ampeg AEB-1/AUB-1 Scroll Bass in Red Sunburst finish. Serial number 072. Scroll basses are rare enough, but if you look closely at this one, the neck is fretted up to the 12th fret, and fretless the rest of the way down! So essentially a mix of an AEB-1 (frets) and AUB-1 (fretless). This is original and from the factory. The back neck plate reads "Special Oder for Syd Warner." Also, on the back of the neck, there's a little hump at the 9th fret, which is to help when playing up at the fretless register. Up to our knowledge, truly the only one in existence!!! No breaks, cracks, repairs, or issues with the bass. It's super solid. The neck has full round profile, and plays fantastic! Truss rod functions, and the action feels great. Tonally it's got that amazing Ampeg upright style tone. There's nothing like the tone of a scroll bass. Here's your chance at a one of kind treasure! HSC...
