Description

Rare find...1920s Regal 12 fret 000 (14 7/8" lower bout) acoustic guitar with solid birch back and sides sporting a faux Brazilian rosewood grain finish. Red spruce top, maple neck, ebonized fret board and bridge. The top is dressed with multi-colored wood marquetry that is also around the soundhole and the back strip is a multi-color herringbone. The guitar is ladder braced, has a scale length of 25 1/4" and nut width of 1 13/16." 100% original inside and out. Has had a recent neck reset, several loose braces reglued, the bridge reglued, a thin maple veneer added to the original spruce bridge plate, a small binding repair and a complete set up. The top, back and sides are free from cracks or damage and overall condition is excellent cosmetically and structurally. The top is flat under tension, no distortion or deflection, no belly behind the bridge. The neck has a substantial/generous "V" profile and there is just a hint of radius to the fret board (not much at all). Under tension of custom lights (.052-.011") the neck is straight and the guitar plays with easy action and good intonation, plenty of saddle showing to lower the set up if desired. Comes with modern hard case. I have a sound file available on request. QUESTIONS? PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU BUY! Ships to US addresses only, no international shipping offered. Thanks for your interest.
