A-style mandola with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, tuned a fifth below a mandolin (comparable to a viola), solid Adirondack spruce top with tone bar bracing, Eastern flamed maple back, sides, and neck (rounded V profile), bound ebony fingerboard with MOP dots, ebony bridge with adjustable saddle, dovetail neck joint, Scale length is 15.9”, 1 5/16” nut width and string spacing of 1 11/16” at the bridge. Complex and detailed tone in an unusual range, sonorous and striking, and would make for an amazing addition to a studio collection.
