Warwick Custom Shop Masterbuilt Idolmaker Previously Owned By Juan Alderete 2018 - Aged Black

Description

Here we have a Warwick Custom Shop Masterbuilt Idolmaker previously owned by Juan Alderete! This bass was featured in Juan’s Official Reverb Shop in 2025.

Specs include an ash body, 3-piece maple neck, maple fingerboard, black block inlays and a brass nut. It has Warwick branded Schaller tuners and a top load adjustable saddle bridge. The scale length is 32” and the nut width is 1.5”. It has a Nordstrand P-style pickup with a stacked active treble/bass control and a volume control. The mini-toggle is an on/off switch for the LED fingerboard side dots.

This bass was aged at the factory and then subsequently played heavily by an active touring musician. There are dings and wear across the instrument, with a nice patina on the back of the neck. There was a sticker on the back of the body when it was retailed by Reverb, but the sticker has been removed leaving some residue. The low E tuning machine had a drop-D extender in place when it was retailed, but now it has a non-aged matching Warwick tuner.

It weighs in at 9lbs 3oz. The neck measures .740 to .930 at the 1st and 12th frets. It has a C shaped neck with a medium should and nearly flat apex. The neck feels great with an oil type finish and a nicely aged patina. The body is slim and sleek with nice contours. It is well balanced, ergonomic, and not too heavy. We love the aging on this one, it’s wonderfully checked across the entire body. The LED side dots are a fun component too. Overall a really cool bass with provenance from a pro with an impressive resume over numerous decades.

Includes the original Warwick gig bag which has some seam tears, as well as the COA from the Reverb shop and the EQD sticker that was removed from the back of the bass.
