This used 2022 D-28 from JC Baxendale is a fantastic example of why we wanted to represent John's guitars here in the shop. Featuring an Adirondack spruce top, over a gorgeous set of Honduran rosewood, this dreadnought features a bell-like, musical response that we love in a flatpicking dread. The quick string response and focused fundamental make it easy to play softly, with a delicate attack, while still delivering a loads of headroom and a bit of a mid-range growl when laying into it.


Subtle vintage appointments such as the herringbone purfling, along with a modern truss rod make for a wonderful combination of vintage appeal and modern construction. Built by a sole builder, with a hands-on approach to every detail, utilizing traditional materials and construction techniques to deliver what counts - a dynamic, responsive guitar that is certainly turning heads around the shop.


We couldn't be more excited about adding JC Baxendale to our lineup of boutique acoustic guitars, and we're thrilled to have this 2022 model arrive in the shop. This was the 9th dreadnought to leave the Baxendale shop, and was a custom-order from the original owner, and it's easy to see the quality and craftsmanship on display that early on.


Here in Very Good condition, there is evenidence of playwear around the soundhole, along with minor damage to the headstock, possibly from a wall hanger or capo. There is a minor side crack on the treble side that has been professionally repaired and is stable. Includes a TKL hardshell case.
