New Martin D-18 Molly Tuttle
Description
A wonderful new signature model for singer-songwriter and flatpicking virtuoso Molly Tuttle based on her trusty 1943 Martin D-18. A lovely vintage sunburst finish on a tortoise-bound solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, Indian rosewood headplate, bone nut and saddle, and the fingerboard and bridge are both ebony. The neck has Martin’s “Authentic 1941” profile with a slightly narrower 1 & 11/16” nut width for precision when playing bluegrass. Scale length is 25.4”, fingerboard radius is 16” and the string spacing at the bridge is 2 & 5/32”. Attractive nickel open-back tuners and unique and distinctive MOP moon phase position markers. One of the most interesting features is the wartime-style rear-shifted scalloped X-bracing which really gives this guitar a giant voice and lots of cut. A beautiful and incredible-sounding instrument commissioned by up-and-coming future legend. Comes in blue thermoplastic hard case recalling the cases Martin used in the 1970s. Limited lifetime warranty, made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA.
