1983 ESP Japan The Mirage Blue Super Strat! MIJ Great Quality Guitar!

Here is a really cool and unique early 1980s ESP Mirage 600, made in Japan during a very strong era for ESP when they were building high-quality instruments that competed directly with the best “super Strat” designs of the time. These were in the hands of some notable players and the quality and uniqueness is probably why.

This example is finished in a striking transparent blue, and one of its most eye-catching features is that the entire neck is also finished in matching blue, giving it a very cohesive and unmistakably 80s aesthetic.

It features a dual humbucker (HH) configuration, and overall reflects ESP’s reputation from this period for solid build quality, modern design ideas, and performance-focused instruments.

This guitar appears to be largely original and complete, with the only noted exception being a missing string tree.

It has been recently set up and plays very nicely, with good feel and responsiveness throughout. The tremolo system is a somewhat unique design, offering a balance that sits between a traditional Fender-style unit and a Floyd Rose — less fussy than a Floyd, but more functional and stable than a standard vintage-style trem.

Cosmetically, it remains in good vintage condition overall, consistent with its age, and presents very well as a clean example from this era of ESP production.

It comes with a chipboard case.
