Description

I can make a pretty good case for the "first rack" ES-345 as being the best sounding Gibson guitar ever made. They are different from all 345's made later. I've owned around 30 of them (out of around 100 made) and every one-without exception-has been a killer player with monster tone. All of 'em. They don't come up for sale very often and rarely at this price. This one is $15,000 or so less than the other one I have listed due to a few issues that won't affect tone or playability. What issues? The back of the neck has been resprayed. The treble side (and maybe the bass side) binding has been replaced. The bridge pickup is a PAF but not the original "short leg" PAF that these guitars all have. Frets probably have been replaced but the replaced binding makes them look original (nibs). It once had Grovers but there are no extra holes and the shaft holes have been doweled and redrilled properly. Original Klusons back on. Everything else is original or correct. Original brown case in ok condition.
