1962 Fender Champ Tweed 5F1
Description
This 1962 Fender Champ Amp is in excellent vintage condition and is all original. The amp shows some signs of play wear and age throughout including some minor surface rust on the control plate, but it is overall extremely clean and nice and one of the absolute nicest examples we’ve ever come across! This amp has no snags in the grill cloth or tears in the tweed covering - just very tight and tidy! This Champ has just received a fresh service courtesy of Rose Electric Audio in Nashville, Tennessee, which included a thorough cleaning, new electrolytic caps and adding a three prong cable for safe operation. The volume potentiometer has a visible code of 304-6123 dating this component to the 23rd week of 1961. The transformer codes date to the 39th week of 1961 and the 44th week of 1960. The speaker code dates to the 46th week of 1960 and the tube chart located inside the amp bears the code “LA” indicating a production date of January 1962.
This amp is in perfect operating order and sounds absolutely stellar. This little 5 watt amp is a total firebreather and I can guarantee that if you're seriously looking for a tweed Champ… you will not be disappointed with this example.
