Gibson Melody Maker Single Cutaway 1960 - Sunburst
Description
Here we have a vintage 1960 Gibson Melody Maker! This single cutaway version is in good shape overall.
Specs include a mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays, strip tuners, and wrap around bridge. It has a 1 11/16β nut width, 12β radius, and 24 3/4β scale length. It has one single coil pickup with volume and tone controls.
This guitar retains its original finish and electronics. The bridge is a modern replacement, but all of the other parts look to be original. The strap buttons are changed, but the original black plastic ones are included. The 13th fret was changed for some reason and the original fret is in the case. The back of the body has been steel wooled or lightly sanded, and has a satin feel with sanding marks. There appears to be a closed and stable hairline crack at the headstock that runs parallel to the truss rod.
This guitar weighs 5lbs 9oz. The neck measures .860 to .970 at the 1st and 12th frets. It has a medium C neck profile that is not too thin. This guitar rips! Itβs super resonant and slinky, playing easily up and down the neck. It has a woody tone and is just fun to play in every way.
Ships in the original alligator case and includes the original fret and strap buttons.
