1965 Gibson LG-1 Sunburst
Description
This 1965 Gibson LG-1 flat-top is in very good vintage condition. This LG-1 shows signs of play wear and age throughout including extensive lacquer checking throughout and some small dings and small scratches throughout. A strap button has been added to the heel of the neck. Overall this old Gibson flat-top looks clean and vibrant and has a great vibe! The bridge on this guitar has been replaced with a larger rosewood bridge with a thick saddle. Although not the most attractive choice, it does appear to have been professionally installed and there are no gaps or other weirdness. This guitar is crack free throughout, the top is reasonably flat, the bridge is flush and the truss rod is in great working order. This instrument has a slim rounded neck profile that tapers larger toward the 12th fret and a 1 9/16” nut width. This neck feels great in the hand and very easy and fun to play! The original fret wire on this guitar is in excellent condition with lots of life left - the frets are tall and only show very light play wear. This LG-1 has been set up here in our shop and it plays great up and down the rosewood fingerboard with nice comfortable action. The original tuning machines are in great shape and function smoothly. This 61 year old ladder braced flat-top sounds fantastic and has a crisp dry tone with plenty of volume - perfect for punchy fingerstyle blues and cutting rhythms. This is a great vintage LG-1 at a great price! This guitar is housed in a gig bag and will ship out promptly and securely from our little shop here in Tennessee to your front door!
