Summary

Finish: The body has been refinished in black, over the original sunburst finish. The original finish on the front was heavily worn as a result of a previous refinish. The neck has been oversprayed as well.

Electronics: The guitar has been fully rewired, using the original bridge pickup, pots, and switch. The neck pickup is a Fralin stock Tele pickup. The pot codes date to 1963.

Hardware: The tuners, nut, and pickguard have been replaced. The headstock tuner holes were filled and re-drilled at some point after other tuning machines were installed. The upper strap button is also replaced.

Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Fender Esquire Custom shows considerable aging and wear, with heavy buckle rash on the back of the body. The front of the body has wear and dings, and the pickguard has a small crack near one of the screws. There is a filled hole on the headstock face near the A tuner, as well as a superficial crack in the back of the neck at the 6th fret.

Modifications/Repairs: The body has been refinished, and the neck has been oversprayed. The neck has been refretted, and the tuners, nut, and pickguard are all replaced. The guitar has been rewired with a neck pickup, using the original pots and switch.

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with medium-low action, and the frets shows mild play wear. The truss rod is fully loosened, and so strings lighter than 10s would not be recommended. The neck stamp dates to 1963.
