Description

This beautiful 000-28 came to us with failed top that had been replaced many years ago. Otherwise the guitar was in remarkably good condition. There were no cracks in the Brazilian rosewood back or sides and the neck was perfect. This guitar required repair work deserving of a golden era Martin. Over the course of months, we spoke with Martin as well as many Martin experts and luthiers. Ultimately we sent the guitar to Michael Walker for a complete top restoration. Michael’s work on pre-war Martins is well known and highly regarded. The result was more than we could have asked for. The guitar received a new, correctly braced Adirondack top, and refinish. Michael very lightly aged the top and brilliantly checked the binding to match the original on the back. The guitar already sounds exquisite with bell like overtones that will only get better the more the guitar is played. Included is the original case from 1936.
