2012 Prestige New Yorker Standard NYS with Ibanez Hybrid Gig Bag - Sunburst

Prestige Guitars is a Vancouver-based builder that has been quietly producing instruments with USA-spec components at prices that outclass larger manufacturers, and the NYS Standard is one of their strongest offerings. It is a single-cutaway semi-hollow — arched maple top and back over a mahogany center block that adds sustain and controls feedback with a configuration that covers more tonal ground than its profile suggests.
The two Seymour Duncan P-90 pickups are the heart of this guitar and they are originals, reading 7.62k bridge and 7.65k neck — a closely matched pair sitting right in the sweet spot. The P-90's give you the articulation and bite of a single-coil with warmth and sustain but without the compressed midrange of a full humbucker. Through a clean amp the NYS is genuinely versatile — warm and full for jazz and blues with the tone rolled back, bright and cutting with it up, and capable of real bite when pushed through an overdriven stage. The mahogany center block keeps the low end controlled where a fully hollow body would bloom and feed back. The net result is an instrument that players describe as surprisingly lively and loud acoustically, and flexible electrically.
Construction details: 24-3/4" scale at a 14" radius, Grover tuners, TonePros-style Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop bar tailpiece, TUSQ XL nut, mahogany neck with a fast C profile at .86" at the first fret and .945" at the tenth. Action set at 2/32" on both strings at the twelfth fret — low and playable. At 7 lbs 0.5 oz this is a comfortable, well-balanced guitar. An Ibanez hybrid gig bag is included.
The guitar is near mint with nearly zero fretwear. It set up perfectly with little effort. The truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustments. It comes with a high quality, thickly padded gig bag.
