From my personal collection; STOP THE PRESSES…BREAKING NEWS…EVIDENCE OF TIME-TRAVEL DISCOVERED!!! Is there any other reasonable explanation how a guitar like this can even exist? In my 44 years of farting around with vintage guitars, I have never seen anything like this, I have never heard of anything like this…it’s from 1959 and in 10/10 NEW OLD STOCK, UNPLAYED CONDITION!!! I have no doubt in my mind if this guitar was placed on the wall at Guitar Center, EVERYONE would assume it’s just a brand new reissue; any reasonable person would, a guitar like this shouldn’t exist. If there was ever a guitar that belongs in a museum, behind bulletproof glass, to be saved for posterity and NEVER be played, this is the one. I honestly can’t tell you how great it plays and sounds because I have no idea, and I don’t care; I’ve never touched it without white linen gloves, and I’ve never allowed anyone touch it either! Besides thinking I’m crazy, are you starting to understand how special and rare I believe this guitar is? But just for shits & giggles, here’s the skinny in a nutshell; All original 1959 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, factory Bigsby with no stud holes, dead-mint unplayed condition, three double white PAFs, reasonably lightweight considering the Bigsby, gold plated parts are 100% intact with zero wear or oxidation, dead-mint original black pebble grain case with case candy and case cover. In case you don’t know, the gold plating on Gibson guitars was so thin and delicate, it only takes a few wipes with a polish cloth to break through to the nickel plating underneath…you dig what I’m saying? I’m not looking to just sell this, I’m looking for a new ‘custodian’ with deep pockets, preferably a museum or a like minded collector who appreciates the very best money can buy, and adamantly supports the idea this guitar needs to remain in its present condition forever. Are you that guy?
