1925 Gibson L-1 archtop acoustic guitar, made in USA; Body: sunburst finished maple, slight separation to side/back towards body end, light buckle scratching to back, light play wear and dings to top, light checking throughout; Neck: mahogany, light dings and scuffs throughout; Fretboard: ebony; Frets: light wear; Hardware: good; Case: original hard case; Overall condition: good for age
**Bearing plaque to head inscribed 'Gibson Guitar Made for Ken Kapua, Birmingham'. Ken Kapua (Ken Reese) played steel guitar in England in the late 20s to mid-30s. In 1933, he wrote the article: "Joseph Kekuku, The Originator of the Hawaiian Guitar, published in the "Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar Magazine"
