Fender Custom Shop 2022 1959 Stratocaster Relic
This is the “1959 Stratocaster Relic” model, produced as a limited edition for Winter 2021.
It recreates a 1959 Stratocaster, featuring a 1P pickguard and slab-on-slab fingerboard. The relic finish process replicates chipped paint and fine, web-like weather checking across the entire body to give it the look of a well-played vintage guitar.
The back of the neck features a “Heavy Relic” finish with chipped paint.The neck has a slightly thicker 60s-style Oval C shape, and the fingerboard has a 9.5" radius and jumbo frets.
It is equipped with three hand-wound Texas Special pickups signed “NG”. The wiring features the “Vintage Mod. Wiring #2”, which has a dedicated, independent capacitor for the rear pickup position.
There are almost no signs of use and no visible fret wear. The neck and truss rod are in perfect condition.
