1958 Danelectro DC-1 Model 3011 With Original Case Black / White
Description
No sales tax for US customers outside California.
This 1958 Danelectro DC-1 Model 3011 is a fantastic example of late-’50s American guitar design, delivering unmistakable vintage character, lightweight comfort, and that wonderfully quirky Danelectro vibe players love.
Simple, honest, and full of personality, the DC-1 has become a cult favorite for musicians who appreciate raw tone, great feel, and a look that stands apart from the usual Fender and Gibson offerings. This example includes the original case, a great bonus for both collectors and players.
This example is in excellent shape with honest cosmetic wear consistent with age, yet it remains structurally solid and musically inspiring. I'[m sure the guitar has been refretted, which is a big plus - it plays better than any similar guitar of the era that we've had around. The rest of the guitar is original, and everything works perfectly. It’s the kind of guitar that reminds you how much fun simple, well-designed instruments can be.
The lightweight body makes this guitar incredibly comfortable for long sessions, while the pickup delivers clear, punchy tones with a slightly gritty edge that works beautifully for blues, early rock, surf, and roots music. Clean tones are bright and articulate, and when pushed, the guitar takes on a raw, garage-rock attitude that records exceptionally well. The neck has that comfortable, broken-in feel you only get from a true vintage instrument, and the guitar responds nicely to changes in pick attack and volume control, making it a surprisingly expressive player.
As with all instruments at Mahar’s Vintage Guitars, it has been fully inspected, photographed accurately, and professionally evaluated to ensure it plays its absolute best.
We buy, sell, and take trades.
